RUTGERS WINANTS HALL

In association with HMR Architects, M&E Engineers played a vital role in the full renovation (architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection) of two floors at Winants Hall to serve as the Rutgers President’s office, while maintaining the historic nature of the building. The renovation in total covered approximately 12,800 square feet. The space suffered from temperature and humidity issues that were also addressed as part of this project.

New mechanical systems included fan coil units concealed within custom cabinetry, maintaining existing smoke control and ventilation systems, and baseboard heating concealed in custom enclosures. Electrical systems included providing power to office equipment, LED lighting with various lighting controls for conference rooms and private offices, replacing the entire buildings fire alarm system and coordination with audio, video, and OIT design requirements.
