NJ DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION

M&E Engineers is now in its third two-year term as the on-call HVAC engineer. Over 20 projects have been completed thus far, which have typically included furnace, air conditioning and air handling unit replacements for various DOT facilities, as well as BMS controls hardening of the Headquarters Complex.

One of the larger projects involved the replacement of an existing steam boiler and a new breeching through the existing roof. Temporary heating was needed during construction since the boiler was out of commission after October 1st. New boiler feed unit was provided in place of the existing condensate return pump that was incorrectly applied to the system. Re-piping of steam and condensate return piping was needed due to errors in design of existing piping.
